The largest activation on Rainey Street and queues around the block.
It’s a sunny Saturday afternoon in Austin and the Pinterest House for SXSW is in full swing. Occupying the Container Bar on Rainey Street, we helped Pinterest throw open the doors to nearly 3,000 people and 412 brand, agency and PMP partners over the three days of the festival with the aim of driving comprehension and intent to spend. Panel discussions attracted 450 people in-house with an average of 100K viewers for each Facebook Live stream. With a social reach of 1,370,439 and 270 tags and mentions, we think it’s safe to say it worked.
Visitors got the chance to explore this question by trying out the Taste Tuner – an interactive activation that helped participants discover new ideas based on their personal tastes.

Crowds were drawn throughout the day to thought leadership panels discussing everything from tastes to tech. A photobooth – and let’s be clear, it was no ordinary photobooth – generated over 55,000 impressions on social media.
The lighting was lowered, the bar was serving personalised cocktails and Peached Tortilla was keeping everybody well fed with tacos – what more could you want? Well, intimate live sets from DJ Trauma, Betty Who and Wu-Tang Clan certainly don’t hurt.
