Mumbrella Pro is Mumbrella’s comprehensive database of people, ideas and insights. A go-to subscription based product connecting Australia to the media and marketing industry.
We partnered with the team to build out the Mumbrella Pro product, identity and website design.
Mumbrella has operated as a media and marketing news resource for over a decade. Mumbrella Pro is an extension of Mumbrella — which underpinned our approach when creating the brand identity. Our mission was to leverage this trust and authority by building upon what was already a recognisable brand.
Being a paywall platform there was a need to introduce a premium look and feel.
By repurposing the logotype and with the addition of ‘Pro’ we kept the identity close to the parent brand. A glow was introduced within the iconic Mumbrella mark for a more futuristic feel as well as the addition of a royal navy — a nod towards trust and authority.
To build a meaningful and relevant experience, we profiled Pro users to understand their needs and how they may interact with the content on hand. We discovered similarities in what they value which we benchmarked against our design decisions.
We discovered that users valued;
To design the sitemap we mapped out how an individual would interact and access content based on these values. It was in this phase we introduced personalisation, a user can tailor what content they see based on their preselected interests.
The layout is simple and functional, giving users the opportunity to browse content in a number of ways. We introduced a filtering system and clickable sector tags for accessibility. The colour palette was used systematically to differentiate sectors and categories. A ‘Following’ drop-down menu was designed to give users immediate access to brands, agencies, companies, and sectors of interest.
The goal is to encourage industry people to use Pro as their go-to resource for exclusive industry news and insights.
